At this point in the play, things are looking pretty bleak for the Quakes. Jungwirth has to control a bouncing return pass from Anibal Godoy. All four of the immediate options are being man marked. However, Jungwirth does very well to recognize the space between Jackson Yueill and Chris Wondolowski in the middle of the pitch.
This very difficult lofted pass is almost perfectly executed from Flo to Wondo. Wondo immediately looks to lay the ball off, as he often does in these types of situations.
Danny Hoesen’s run across the top of the box intersects with Wondo’s gentle lay-off, and Hoesen begins to continue his run across the top of the box. Shea Salinas’ positioning in the ball-far half space becomes very important here.
Salinas finds the perfect time to make his run, when his defender has lost sight of him, and the finish is just sublime.
