Player Ratings: New England Revolution 0, San Jose Earthquakes 0
Team — 6.0
Any road point is a good one, and the Quakes will feel simultaneously unlucky not to score and relieved to have kept a clean sheet.
Bingham — 6.6, POTM
Came up with several huge saves to keep the clean sheet on a night where he was called into action frequently.
Lima — 6.1
Did okay in his battle with Fagundez, as he was skinned a few times but also limited the attack down his flank. He did well going forward with some dangerous crosses.
Jungwirth — 6.0
Some mistakes, but otherwise solid. He and Bernardez still seem to be working out who should step and who should cover, and when to switch.
Bernardez — 5.3
Back in the starting lineup after two matches, he struggled against a Revs attack that emphasized pace rather than strength.
Francis — 5.3
Good crossing on the night, but also too many defensive mistakes.
Cato — 6.4
Played better in his second straight start, and provided the crosses on perhaps the Quakes’ two best chances. Subbed after 69 minutes for Tommy Thompson.
Godoy — 5.9
At times he was a beast in the midfield, dictating play and breaking up New England attacks. At other times, he was an easy turnover in a bad spot.
Alashe — 6.2
After two games at center back, it seemed to take him a while to get used to the midfield again. In the second 45, however, he played very well, breaking up attacks and keeping possession cleanly. Very unlucky not score, with Cody Cropper producing an amazing point-blank save.
Hyka — 6.4
Going the full 90 for the second straight game, the Albanian was dangerous and direct, but also willing to track back and do his part to keep the clean sheet.
Hoesen — 6.3
Looked sharp in his first start for the Quakes. His hold-up play was good, and he will feel he should have scored after hitting the post in the first half.
Wondolowski — 5.5
A poor game from the captain. He was wasteful in the penalty area, including the embarrassing whiff in the first half. Perhaps most useful defending corners in this game.
Thompson — NA
Subbed on for Cato, and was better in possession but less dangerous attacking defenders with pace.
Ureña — NA
Did not contribute much in his 20 minutes on the pitch.
Ceren — NA
Produced a stinging shot late on, but was otherwise a defensive substitution.
