Burlingame Dragons Sign UNLV Midfield Trio for 2016 Season

After a quiet week, the Dragons announced a number of signings from the University of Nevada – Las Vegas. Jose Mendoza-Martinez, Kevin Partida and Irvin Somera committed to playing for the Dragons this upcoming summer. The three midfielders will add to the already strong Dragons squad, which is shaping up to be a contender in the division once again this year.

Mendoza Martinez, who is returning to the Dragons, has scored seven goals and three assists in 70 games at UNLV, and is also a San Francisco native. Somera started 17 of 19 games for UNLV, and tallied two assists as well. He too has a lot of experience under his belt, with 60 games played for the Running Rebels in Las Vegas. Partida is a returning to the Dragons as a part of the team that helped them to the Southwest Division Championship, where he played in nine games and notched an assist. Following his season with the Dragons, he was able to score four goals and three assists while starting all games.
