San Jose Notes and Injuries

Form — D-L-W-D-W (47 points, 7th place in Western Conference)

  • Last Week — Anibal Godoy scored the only goal as the Quakes won 1-0 against Sporting Kansas City to keep their playoff hopes alive. Full highlights here.

  • Godoy picked up a yellow card in addition to his goal, and will miss the match against FC Dallas due to accumulation.
  • Innocent has suffered a setback in his return from a torn meniscus, and will not feature this season regardless of the Quake’s playoff status.

FC Dallas Notes and Injuries

Form — L-W-D-W-W (57 points, 1st place in Western Conference)

  • Last Week — FCD collected their third consecutive shutout in a 1-0 win over Real Salt Lake. The win moved them level with NYRB on point in the race for the Supporter’s Shield.

  • Kellyn Acosta (hamstring) and Bakare Soumare (concussion symptoms) were both left out of the 18 against RSL and are questionable.

Playoff Scenarios

If San Jose wins, they will make the playoffs if one of the following occurs:

  • Colorado beats Portland.

  • Real Salt Lake wins or draws against Seattle.

  • Los Angeles beats or ties with Sporting Kansas City.

If San Jose draws, they will make the playoffs if:

  • Los Angeles wins against Sporting KC.

If San Jose loses to FC Dallas, the Quakes will not make the playoffs.

Predicted Starting Lineup

Marc Pelosi and Victor Bernardez should slide right back into the starting XI following their suspensions, allowing Marvell Wynne to move back to his natural right back spot. The rest of the lineup will likely remain unchanged from last week.

  • FCD took the first matchup between these teams this season with a 1-0 victory off of Blas Perez’s late goal in March. The teams battled to a scoreless draw at Avaya in June.

  • FC Dallas is ranked 2nd in the power rankings.
