Earthquakes Exchange CB Ty Harden for FW Quincy Amarikwa

On Friday, the Earthquakes announced that they had acquired FW Quincy Amarikwa in exchange for CB Ty Harden. Harden made two appearances for the Earthquakes this year, and even scored a goal against the Fire in Avaya Stadium’s inaugural match.¬†Amarikwa made $60,000 guaranteed in 2014 while Harden made $71,665, which means that the Quakes could have potentially freed up some cap space.

Amarikwa was drafted by the Earthquakes in the third round of the 2009 MLS SuperDraft. He made 25 appearances, but did not make much of an impact, before being traded to the Colorado Rapids in 2010.
