5/24: San Jose vs. Orlando City Player Ratings
David Bingham – 5 – Hesitated on a long ball at the edge of the penalty area, and was a split second too late to clear with a punch, taking out Cyle Larin and forcing Referee Allen Chapman to point to the spot.
Jordan Stewart – 7 – The left side of the Quakes formation continued their hot form, even if Stewart did blast a few chances into low orbit.
Clarence Goodson – 6 – Calm on the ball, and dealt with Larin’s physicality effectively.
Victor Bernárdez – 6 – Perhaps should have done more to deal with the long ball that led to the penalty, but perhaps he couldn’t have anticipated keeper’s decision making on the play. Apart from that, kept Larin quiet.
Marvell Wynne – 5 – Had a quiet day as the right side of the Quakes formation was handled by Orlando LB Luke Boden. Had a bit more success after Brek Shea was sent off and Kaká was shifted out to the right.
Sanna Nyassi – 4 – Thoroughly bested by Boden. Replaced after 70 minutes.
Fatai Alashe – 7 – Cycled possession neatly, and did very well to deny Kaká any space in front of the back four where the Brazilian likes to operate. Could’ve been better with ball distribution, but was overall very good for the team.
Matías Pérez García – 7 – Lively, inventive, and a constant danger with the ball at his feet, but the final ball was lacking at times.
Chris Wondolowski – 6 – Took his penalty calmly and put himself in the threatening positions we’ve come to expect, but was otherwise quiet.
Shea Salinas – 7 – Gave Orlando RB Rafael Ramos fits in the first half, especially off the dribble. Combined well with Stewart throughout.
Adam Jahn – 4 – Had a few instances of good hold-up play, but otherwise failed to get involved. There seemed to be times he was unsure where to run when MPG was on the attack with the ball at his feet. Replaced after 67 minutes.
Khari Stephenson – 5 – Replaced Jahn to allow Wondo to go up top, but did little of note in the midfield.
Cordell Cato – 6 – Looked lively going down both flanks as the Quakes searched for a winner.
